Really, whats all the fuss? Its free, it doesnt take up space, and you can see your face on a large screen. Sure, more could have been done with it, but the expectation WAS a simple mirror. For all the people fussing and crying about how they think it is the same as photo booth, just shut up already because everyone has heard it. At least this app has a larger screen, cool icon and HD.
People just let the guy develop his own application, and let him be. Of course we all know we have photobooth, for that reason he doesnt need your negative crap. He made an application that uses the Camera, and shows your image on the screen. Its better than photobooth because its larger (Mac osX Snow Leopard). Thank You Appmosys LLC for this application, 400 Kilobytes is not going to hurt my hardrive space.
For the price that this app costs (free), you are getting RIPPED OFF.
This is app is better than Photo Booth. It opens automatically to a "mirror" using you Mac iSight. Photo Booth takes up your entire screen. Mirror HD also flips the camera so you see yourself like youre looking into a mirror.
It squishes the person on the screen even in a HD ISight. Wow, this is a horrible app. Plus you can’t switch other video cameras like in the photobooth.
In my MacBook, it doesn’t get full screen. Granted, it’s a larger screen than what I get from Photo Booth, but not full. And the image gets distorted, squished.
This is a great app, and I am planning on keeping it downloaded. One way to make it better is to make it like Photo Booth and make it take pictures and video in HD. This quality, I think, would be better.
I work on a 15” Retina MacBook Pro with a Thunderbolt display connected and there is no way to change the camera from the built-in camera on the laptop to the camera on the display. If it had this feature, I’d give it 5 stars.
It needs to be able to change the size of the mirror, then its a DEFINATE 5 Stars!
This app is helpful, but if you are in a dark room, this app is useless. Also, it basically is the same thing as photo booth, but, it doesn’t have all of those stupid gimics.(the special effects) Therefore, all in all, this app is good but not great because it can be helpful and if you are in the dark it’s useless.
I dont think the apps been updated in quite some time. Im current using OS 10.8, and the image stretches out vertically. The green window button that would normally help resize the window to either fit the screen or bring it back to the last size is disabled, and the corner of the window that might help resize the window appropriately is below the window frame, making it beyond the users reach. If these issues get corrected, this app would still be nice to use. Particularly if you can resize the window as needed
Tried the app. The picture is distorted (wrong aspect ratio). Maybe it is because I have 2nd display connected, but it should be able to handle this as other programs like Skype and PhotoBoth do. Also I wish it had full screen option.
On my MacBookPro (Yosemite), this app gives a distorted view — the aspect ratio is wrong, so everything looks compressed along the vertical axis (making everything look taller and thinner than it really is). Flattering for those of us with a few extra pounds, I suppose— but really, this is more like a “funhouse mirror”, than a “make-up mirror”. For an app that claims to be just a “full-screen HD mirror”, and chooses a make-up mirror as the icon, this really misses the mark. If you are looking for a make-up mirror, don’t bother with this app— use FaceTime or PhotoBooth, both of which you already have, and both of which give you a correct image. If this app fixed the aspect ratio problem, and actually did support full screen mode (properly), then it’d be worth having.
It’s free, so I shouldn’t really complain…but the picture is distorted; it makes everything look tall and skinny. I don’t want a funhouse mirror, just a regular one!
distorted, no option to fix/set aspect ratio.
Now, as another user has noticed, the “Mirror” appears vertically stretched - don’t know if this is a result of Yosemite, or the Retina display on my MacBook 15.
It maybe should be named fun house mirror. It is a mirror… but my face isn’t that long, for sure. If you’re on a mac, photo booth is way better and comes with the computer… I’m deleting the app.
Not worth downloading until they fix the video aspect ratio issue.
You say features: 1024x768 Full screen, really? It shows incorrect aspect ratio, cant even open full screen without borders. Need to be 1280x800
